Sydney Jones

A celebration of life and graveside inurnment for Sydney Lynn Jones, 22, of Cleburne, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 7, 2023 in the Brazos Point Cemetery with Reverend Larry York officiating. The family asks that in honor of Sydney’s love of animals that those inclined to give donations, do so to the giver’s choice of animal rescue or humane society.

Sydney Lynn Jones passed away Saturday, August 19, 2023, in Cleburne. She was born to Stephen Douglas Jones and Tammy Lynn Williams Jones on May 10, 2001, in South Lake Tahoe, California. Sydney was of Christian faith. She worked various jobs including H&R Block Tax Refunds Receptionist and waitressing at local restaurants, while attending Hill College studying Auto Mechanics. Her friends often say she was their “counselor” as she was the go-to person if anyone had a problem or needed someone to talk to. Her own problems were put to the side, and she focused on helping or listening to her friends instead. Sydney was “bigger than life”, always the “life of the party”. Her fun-loving nature, kind-hearted soul, and free spirit drew people to her. She loved to laugh and make others laugh as well. Sydney was sharp-witted and strong willed. While in school, Sydney was involved in many activities, including the CHS Beta Club, Varsity Tennis, and CHS Band playing the clarinet. She enjoyed anything outdoors, but especially her guns, big trucks, the river and time spent with friends and family. She expressed herself in countless ways but especially through her love of music and body art. Sydney left this world too early but left everlasting marks on the countless lives she touched. She will be remembered with a smile and missed greatly. Sydney is preceded in death by her father, Stephen Jones; grandparents, Doug Jones and Cheryl Lococo; and uncles, Zeb Williams and Chad Lococo.

Survivors include her mother, Tammy Lynn Williams Jones; grandparents, Jackie Williams and Brenda Brice; siblings, Skyler Salinas and Madalyn Jones; aunts, Candy Cryer; great aunt, Cheryl Neves; former long-time boyfriend, Christopher Harper; beloved dogs who she thought of as her children, Middie and Coconut; as well as numerous other family members and countless friends.
