Teresa Jean (Atkins) Gardner

Teresa Jean Gardner, 70, of Groesbeck, Texas, peacefully passed away on December 9, 2024, in Mexia, Texas. Born on August 20, 1954, in Hurst, Texas, she brought joy and warmth to those around her throughout her life.

Teresa married Sidney Wayne Gardner on January 11, 1973, in Waco, Texas. Together, they built a loving family and enjoyed many cherished moments. In her professional life, Teresa dedicated herself to her work as a Registered Nurse, exemplifying compassion and commitment in caring for others. Those who knew Teresa can attest to her intelligence, loyalty, and the deep love she shared as a wife and mother. She will be profoundly missed by her family and friends.

Teresa is survived by her husband, Sidney Gardner; her children, Brandee Escalante and Jerrod, Aimee Gardner, Natalee Ware and David, Shannon Celano and Joey, and Stacy Haydu and Bob; as well as her grandchildren, Ashlie, Andrew, Avery, Adam, Kennedy, Lauren, Scarlett, Sydnee, Evie, Morgan, Austin, and Madison.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Bobbie Jo Atkins, and her siblings, Michael, Sharron, and Gary.

A graveside service to honor Teresa’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 13, 2024, in Godley Cemetery, with Reverend Ken Coleman officiating.

Her spirit and memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
