On Monday, January 5, 2015 at 8:58 am with her babies by her side Terri Carroll Fisher passed away at her home in Carrizo Springs, TX due to a battle with cancer. Terri was 56 years old.
Terri was born on March 25, 1958 in Cleburne, TX to Garland and Helen Carroll. Terri was definitely a country girl. She grew up riding horses and was a member of the 4-H Riding Club. Terri competed in barrel races, pole bending, flag races, goat tying, and even steer riding in local playdays. She was also a member of FFA. In fact, she was the first girl to enroll in the Cleburne Chapter of the FFA and was named to the Who’s Who list of her chapter. Terri graduated from Cleburne High School in 1976.
Terri loved to cook. As most of us can attest, her banana pudding was the best! She was also well known for her strawberry jam.
Terri was a talented seamstress and enjoyed doing crafts. She sewed many blankets and pillow cases. Terri shared her talent with her daughters by helping them with their 4-H Clothing projects. Her home is filled with many of her craft projects which usually reflected a western style.
On April 12, 1986, Terri married Carl Anthony Fisher and together they raised five children: Rusty, Krystina, Kirt , Bayli, and Sage. Terri’s life was centered around her family. She kept her children involved in church, sports, 4-H, FFA, stock shows, rodeo, and even music lessons. But Terri was involved, as well. She served as the Rodeo Club Director, President of the Parent Leaders Association for 4-H, Youth Committee member for her church, Vacation Bible School teacher, Sunday School teacher, and organized many youth events.
Terri encouraged all children to be involved in worthwhile organizations, but especially 4-H and FFA. She helped many boys and girls get their start in the stock show by helping them select animals, haul animals to shows, teach them how to raise, clip, and show their animals, and help them sign up for stock shows and calf scrambles. She was a firm believer that the lessons children learned through the responsibility of raising animals would benefit them for a lifetime.
The last few years, Terri worked for Dr. Jon Taylor at the Southwest Animal Hospital. She truly loved her job, but possibly more than that, she loved to tell the stories that developed from her days of working in the clinic.
Terri was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheyenne, and her brother, Leon.
Terri is survived by her husband: Carl; parents: Garland and Helen Carroll; brothers: Ricky, Sr. and family, and Clifford and family; children: Rusty and his wife Sara, Krystina, Kirt, Bayli, and Sage; and grandchildren: Travis, Tyler, Matti and Kayli. Along with several family and extended family.
