Terry Dale Shaw, 79, of Frisco, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011. He was born in Alvarado to J. W. "Smokey" and Pauline Shaw on October 10, 1932.
Terry proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and then attended Texas Tech University and UT Arlington. He was a faithful employee of Bell Helicopter as a metallurgical engineer for 35 years. Terry also owned a successful swimming pool service business for many years which he enjoyed. Before starting his day attending pools Terry and his long time friend, Curtis Shannon, met every Saturday morning at 7 am sharp for breakfast at their favorite restaurant, The Cactus Flower Café, in Fort Worth for many years. Throughout his life and especially after retirement Terry enjoyed helping friends and family with his meticulous carpentry and creative landscaping skills. Terry was a true Texan and was known for his humorous colloquialisms. He was also a firm believer in products made in the USA. One way he proved this was by only owning and driving Ford vehicles. He resided in Fort Worth until 2007 when he moved to Frisco to be near his daughter and her family. Terry was a member of Birchman Baptist Church in Fort Worth.
Terry is survived by his daughter, Sabrina Kate Wilson, her husband, Rich and their two daughters, Natalie Rose and Isabella; his cousin, Joe Frank Wallace, his wife, Betty, and their children, Matthew, Marcy and Ashley and their families and Betty Shaw. Terry was a very special brother-in-law to Betty's four sisters Nella Rose, Mary K, Phyllis and Laura. He is also survived by his dear friend of many years, Pat Nimerick of Fort Worth and her family.
The family would like to thank all the nurses, therapists and the staff at Prairie Estates in Frisco. They are true angels and took wonderful care of Terry for four years.
