Thelma Williams Gorman

A memorial service for Thelma Williams Gorman, 96, of Keene, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 27, 2024, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel.

Thelma passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024, in Keene. She was born June 9, 1927 in Alvarado to R.J. and Jessie Phredonia (Springfield) Williams. Thelma married Cecil James Gorman on November 27, 1947 in Fort Worth. She was of the Baptist faith. Thelma enjoyed sewing and worked as a seamstress and in sales for Walls Industries for several years. She was a strong-willed, opinionated lady who loved her family greatly.  Thelma enjoyed gardening and watching her old crime shows. She was an avid reader and an amazing baker. Thelma will be missed by all that knew her.

She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Gorman, Ross Gorman, and Carl Gorman and wife, Laura; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; and sister, Vera Carper; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, R.J. and Jessie Williams; husband, Cecil Gorman; siblings, Lucille Williams, R.J. Williams, Jr., Melton Williams, Robert “Mutt” Williams, Ray Williams, Vivian Brown, J.B. Williams, and Walton “Butch” Williams.
