Services for Tom J. Day, 79, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 27, 2010 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Mr. Kern Porter will officiate. Burial will follow in Kopperl Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Thursday.
Mr. Day passed away Monday, August 23, 2010 in Cleburne. He was born November 11, 1930 in Kopperl to Charlie and Myrtle Hornbuckle Day. He married Alta Berniece Mullins on January 26, 1954 in Fort Worth.
Tom served his country proudly in the U. S. Army during the Korean war. He was a retired butcher with more than 25 years of service at Safeway and five years at Minyards. He was a member of the Cleburne Masonic Lodge
#315. Tom was a member of Westhill Church of Christ.
Tom Day is survived by three sons, Tommy Day and wife Vickie of Cleburne, Chris Day and wife Brenda of Buffalo Valley, Tennessee and Allen Day and wife Jean Ann of Cleburne; one daughter, Sherry Nelson of Cleburne; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and one sister, Ella May Archer of Cleburne.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Alta Bernice Day on December 17, 2005; four brothers and one sister.
