Tom Jones

Service for Tom Frank Jones, 82, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 in the First Baptist Church of Cleburne. Dr. Danny Crosby will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Glen Collins, Doug Watson, Johnny Hight, David Johnson, Jon Temple, Joe Lilly, Charles Strickland, and Robert Johnson. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.

Mr. Jones passed away Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 in Ft. Worth. He was born March 25, 1931 in Cleburne to Gurvos Hill and Ara Margaret Rose Jones. He married Sandra Kathleen Davis on March 15, 1952 in Ardmore, OK.

Mr. Jones served in the United States Army National Guard. He owned and operated South Main Exxon service station and tire co. for 30 years. Tom was a member of the Johnson County Sherriffs Posse since 1958, serving as Captain and Chairman of the Rodeo Committee for several years. He was an active supporter of Cleburne High School sports programs and High School rodeo. Tom was a member of First Baptist Church in Cleburne.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Jones of Cleburne; three children, Duane Jones and wife Shnelle of Decatur, Suzi Ormsby and husband Floyd of Cleburne and Cody Jones and wife Kim of Cleburne; nine grandchildren, Leslie Jones, Amber Jones, Destiny Jones, Stefany Jones, Cassie Gillock, Mitzi Wegand and husband Zak, Kendall Jones, Jennifer Burns and husband DeWayne, and Julie Stevens and husband Keith; six great grandchildren; brothers, Dr. Ben Hill Jones and wife Annelle of Cleburne and Jimmy Jones and wife Glenda of Keene. He was preceded in death by his parents.
