Funeral service for Tommie Lee Ervin, 75, of Grandview, Texas will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Karnes City, Texas. Dr. B.W. Black will officiate. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Karnes City, Texas. Visitation will be at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church. Active Pallbearers will be Edward Williams, Jerry Rogers, James L. Rogers, Jr., Charles Reginald Rogers, Dennis Ray Thomas and Louis Brooks Rogers. Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin Hardeman, Edward Hardeman, Charles Rogers, Willie Rogers, Clarence Edwards and Kaitlyn A. Ervin.
Tommie passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022, in Mansfield, Texas. He was born February 9, 1947, in Fulshear, Texas to Charlie Jones and Pearlie Bell Irving. He married Floris C. Ervin in June of 1972 in Richmond, Texas. Tommie was a member of First Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Cleburne, Texas. He was a truck driver for 32 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Pearlie C. Ervin-Hardeman (Edward) of Dale, Texas sons, Thomas Benjamin Ervin (Anna) of Hallettsville, Texas, Edward Williams of Baytown, Texas; stepchild, Laura Gaines of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Calvin A. Hardeman, Kaitlyn A. Ervin, Anissia L. Hardeman and a host of other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Rose Mary Kelly; half-sisters, Minnie M. Jones, Linda Miller, Gladys Jones and Judy Williams; brothers, Charles and Willie Rogers; half-brothers, Charles R. Jones, Louis A. Jones and Don E. Johnson; a dear friend for over 18 years, Charlene Montee of Grandview, Texas.
Tommie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Floris C. Hawkins who passed away on February 18, 1986; son, Thomas Ervin, Jr.; brothers, Frank Rogers and James Rogers; sisters, Elnora Rogers (infant), and Annie Pearl Rogers; stepchildren, Carl Rose and Florine Alexander.
