Graveside service for Tommie Grover, 66, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 23, 2021, in Greenlawn Cemetery. Reverend Patricia McWilliams will officiate. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, October 22, 2021, at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Anderson, Lance Grover, Charles Maddox, Lonnie Collins, Greg Cox and Wilburn Cox, Jr.
Tommie C. Grover passed away Monday, October 18, 2021, in Fort Worth. He was born February 27, 1955 to H.J. and Earnestine (Collins) Grover in the Crabbs Prairie Community in Walker County, Texas. His early education started at Sam Houston Elementary School in Huntsville, then Fulton Elementary School and graduated from Cleburne High School; he furthered his education at Aviation Mechanic School in Wichita Falls at Sheppard Air Force Base. Tommie worked as a contractor in the concrete industry, a mechanic and was employed by Santa Fe Railroad, Haul Pulp Logs and Johns Manville. He was a member of St. Paul CME Church. Tommie loved to travel and garden and was an avid reader.
Tommie is survived by his daughter, Tenecia Grover of Bedford, Texas; son, Tommie C. Grover, Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, Donald Grover and wife, Pam of Cleburne, Texas, Jonathan Baldwin of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sisters, Brenda Overton and husband, Lyndon of Cleburne, Texas, Kathleen Collins of Longboat Key, Florida; aunts, Bessie Cox of Huntsville, Texas, and Helen Garrett of Houston, Texas; uncle, Reverend S.E. Harris of Houston, Texas; nieces and nephews, Lance, LaShanda, Myra, BrieAnna, DeNisha and Jonathan, Jr. numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and a host of other relatives and friends, which include, very special friends Edward Craig Anderson and Charles LaVerne Maddox
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Lannie & Georgia Lee Collins and Henry & Iveno Dickson.
