Service for Tony Applegate, 52, of Grandview, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 20, 2022, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in Baker-Lain Cemetery. A visitation will be Friday, August 19, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 P.M., at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Joe Applegate, Otis Bullard, Michael Coble, Dylan Fussell, Justin Fussell, Ryan Fussell, L.J. Holmes, Randy Trimble and Donnie Wood.
Tony passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022, in Cleburne. He was born September 23, 1969, in Cleburne. Tony married Brenda Kay Fussell on September 22, 2012, in Burleson. He was of the Christian faith. Tony was the Operating President of Southwest Powder Coating in Burleson. Tony was always the life of the party. He left an everlasting mark on every person he came into contact with. Tony was a giver of his talents, time and resources to a fault. He had a way of welcoming you not just as a friend but more like family. Tony was a strong-willed man with an independent streak who never was idle. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. His greatest joy in life was getting to be a “Papaw.” Tony’s laughter, love of life and hard-working ethic as well as devotion to his family and friends will be missed greatly by countless loved ones.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Fussell-Applegate; daughters, Andrea Applegate Coble and husband, Michael, Megan Applegate Holmes and husband, L.J.; best friend and stepson, Ryan Fussell and wife, Sara; grandchildren, Marshall, Kai, Kalani, Justin, Dylan, Makala and Sage; great-grandchildren, Riley, Kennedy and Harper; mother, Shirley Landrum; siblings, Becky Glenn, Joe Applegate, and Anthony Applegate; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Joseph Applegate.
