Service for Tony Jack Childress, 62, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, August 17, 2018 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Dr. John Hall will officiate. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Tony Jack Childress passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 in Cleburne. He was born August 19, 1955 in Sweetwater to Billy Jack and Billie Nanette Perkins Childress. He married Shelley Diann Johnson on July 3, 1976 in Cleburne.
Mr. Childress worked as an operator at Chaparral Steel, retiring with 27 years of service. He loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He was a member of Field Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Shelley Diann Childress of Cleburne; sons, Tanner Childress and wife Taylor and Tiger Childress and wife Kalee, all of Cleburne; grandchild, Cohen Childress; mother, Nanette Threadgill and husband Billy T. of Canton; brothers, Butch Childress and wife Renee of Canton and Danny Childress of Colorado; sister, Vicki Goodman and husband Ronnie of Whitney; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Keith and Jeaniv Johnson of Cleburne; brother-in-law, Steve Johnson and wife Alicia of Cleburne; sister-in-law, Shawn Tevis and husband Denzel of Perryton; one niece and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, B.J. Childress.
