Travis Reed

Mr. Travis A. Reed went home to be with his Lord. Services for Mr. Reed will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 9, 2006 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Mr. Robert Fuller and Dr. Joe Stephens will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.

Travis A. Reed, 84, passed away Friday, October 6, 2006 in Cleburne surrounded by the family he loved. He was born September 6, 1922 in Cleburne to Jim and Carmen Hall Reed. He married his childhood sweetheart, Uberta Doty on June 14, 1941 in Glen Rose.

Mr. Reed sold furniture for many years in Cleburne and enjoyed farming and ranching. His outgoing personality and entrepreneurial spirit were evident to all he met. At age 16, he eagerly ansewred the call of duty and enlisted with many of his young Cleburne friends into the 36th division of the US Army, serving in WW II in Europe. He also was a member of Westhill Church of Christ.

Travis A. Reed is survived by his wife, Bert Reed of Cleburne; son, Ronald B. Reed and wife Sandy of Cleburne; daughters, Ann Dugger and husband Doug of Cleburne and Kathy Singletary and husband Rick of Cleburne; sister, Joan Hill of Granbury;nine grandchildren, Jeff Dugger, Lana Pantoja, Chad Dugger, Chris Reed, Matthew Hutto, Casey Dugger, Shawna Wheeler, Adam Hutto and Jordon Reed; 14 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Carmen Claunch and the loving father he always knew as, Charlie.
