Mrs. Carter passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2005 in Cleburne. She was born June 27, 1915 in Iredell, Texas to Oley Corby and Bessie Ann Golden Chester. She married Wilbur Robert Carter on September 20, 1935 in Walters, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Carter and her husband lived in Lawton Oklahoma where they owned and ran a restaurant and then a grocery store until they retired. Tressie lived in Lawton until 1985, then moved to Cleburne.
Tressie Lee Carter is survived two nieces and a number of cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilburn Robert Carter on August 25, 1971; son, Dee Kenneth Johnston on December 22, 1933; mother, Bessie Ann Chester on July 12, 1926; father, Oley Corby Chester on July 18, 1950; brother, Alvin Lowrence Chester on March 6, 1993, and sister, Elva Gertrude (Chester) Jones on October 9, 1982.
