Services for Truman M. Wallis, 80, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 12, 2012 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in the Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Wallis passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012 in Fort Worth. He was born to Clifford Monroe and Virgie Lillian Irvin Wallis on October 17, 1931 in Godley. Truman married the love of his life, Louise Burgess, on June 10, 1949 in Cleburne. They were married 57 years at the time of her death in 2006. His devotion to his family was echoed throughout his lifetime. He was the ultimate family man. Truman retired in 1993 as a carman inspector with Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of Lane Prairie Baptist Church. Truman was a self made musician, focused on blue grass and gospel music specifically. He enjoyed playing dominoes and cards in his spare time. His strong will and love for life and family will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brother, Dickie Wayne Wallis.
Survivors include his children, Gary Wallis and his wife, Linda, Kenneth Wallis and his wife, Sandra, and Donna Wallis and her fiancé, Mike Perdicho; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Wallis King; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
