Valley Allen

Services for Valley Allen, 93, of Burleson, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2007 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Stan Denman will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.

Valley Allen passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2007 in Fort Worth. She was born July 31, 1913 in Chatfield, TX to Staten and Nance Elizabeth Jones Nance.

Mrs. Allen was a retired office manager in the insurance industry. She was in the first class of women admitted to Texas Tech University. She was very active in missions at church. Valley was an amazing and strong person. She loved her family and liked to quilt. She was a member of W.M.U. (Women Missionary Union), B & P.W. ( Business & Professional Women) and the Henderson Street Baptist Church.

Valley Allen is survived by her nephew, Hugh Atwell and wife Linda of Albuquerque, NM; niece, Wanda Tomerlin and husband Tommy of Austin, TX; great-nephew, Jeff Atwell and Wife Christine of Burleson; great-nieces, Sherrill Nelson and husband Jerry of Cleburne, Kelly Tomerlin and Sharon Tomerlin both of Austin, TX; 3 great-great nephews and 1 great-great niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, S.R. and Elizabeth Nance; brother, Billy Nance and sister, Lois Atwell.
