Vandylene Simons Perdue passed away March 27, 2025, in Grand Prairie. She was born on July 20, 1947, in Andrews, Texas.
Vandylene led a vibrant life characterized by her loving relationships and engaging interests. She was the devoted partner of Earl Herrell for 41 wonderful years, sharing countless adventures together, including road trips to their favorite casinos, where they enjoyed gambling and the thrill of chance. Vandylene's love for reading was evident in her impressive in-home library, a sanctuary where she found joy and solace among the pages of her beloved books.
She was mother to her sons, Billy Perdue and his wife Janet, and Rodney Perdue and his wife Nichole. Vandylene embraced her role as “Grammy” to her grandkids: Tristan, Kassidie, Zachary and his wife Brooke, Darian, Ailor, and Madison; great-grandkids, Raelynn and Jaxson.
Vandylene is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Thelma Simons, and her brother, William Darryl Simons.
Though she may no longer walk among us, the love Vandylene shared will continue to resonate within the hearts of those she touched. She will be dearly remembered and greatly missed.
