Service for Velma Mae Parker, 100, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 28, 2020, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Reverend Donna Ware will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Monday, January 27, 2020 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Roger Mathis, Ron McDaniel, Doug Mathis, Bradley Wagner, Brandon Wagner and Michael Lain.
Velma Mae Parker passed away Friday, January 24, 2020 in Cleburne. She was born September 24, 1919 in Ellis County to J.H. and Lula Caroline (Henry) Jackson. She married James Erwin Parker, Sr. on August 5, 1939 in Ellis County. She was a homemaker and long time member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and member of the Eastern Star.
Velma is survived by daughter, Lynda Lain and husband Michael of Cleburne; grandchildren, Doug Mathis and wife Dee of Cleburne, Roger Mathis and husband Ron McDaniel of Dallas; step-granddaughter Tonja Barrett of Burleson; step- great grandchildren, B.J. Barrett and wife Ali, Shiloh Tkach and husband Luke; step- great great grandchild, Lila Barrett and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Velma is preceded in death by her husband; son, James E. “Jimmy” Parker, Jr.; brothers, H.H. “Buck” Jackson and J.C. “Snooks” Jackson.
