Service for Velma Lee Scott, 87, of Cleburne will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, Mar. 18, 2017 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend John Warren, the Reverend Johnie Dollarhide and the Reverend Donald J. Earl will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bernard Brown, J.J. Scott, Issaih Washington and Steven Scott. Honorary pallbearer will be Bruce Washington, II.
Velma Lee Scott passed away Sunday, Mar. 12, 2017 in Cleburne. She was born Nov. 26, 1929 in Kaufman to Jefroe and Willie Pearl Marrow Patterson. She married James F. Scott on June 9, 1946 in Kaufman.
Mrs. Scott worked as a cook until retiring and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, and a dear friend to many. She was a member of Bethel Salter AME.
Survivors include her beloved husband, James F. Scott of Cleburne; daughters, Mary Washington of Cleburne and Brenda Prather of Hurst; son, Charles Scott of Cleburne;

to grandson, Randall Scott; granddaughter, Naomi Brown Allen and husband Victor of Denver, CO; great grandson, Bruce Washington, Jr. and Isaih Washington; and foster son, Steven Scott of Ft. Worth;
grandchildren, Marla Prather, Bernard Brown, Corey Spencer, J.J. Scott, Pam Lacy and Marcus Grant; and numerous other great and great-great grandchildren; brother, Willie L. Patterson of Terrell; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents; three children, Annie Scott, Bobby Scott and Jimmy Scott; and grandsons, Quincy Scott and Bruce Washington, Sr.
