Services for Venita Jane West Osborne, 91, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 16, 2010 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Kerry Horn and Pastor Eric Black will officiate. Burial will be in the Rio Vista Cemetery. Pallbearers are Darrell Lambert, Henry Coate, Glen Patterson, Buck Jenkins, Stetson Coate and Ray Waits. Honorary pallbearer will be Daryl Lambert. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday.
Mrs. Venita Jane West Osborne, longtime resident of Covington, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2010 in Rio Vista. She was born July 20, 1918 in Bosque County to William Grover and Ethel Bailey West. She married Henry Burnett Osborne on May 2, 1935.
Venita was a wonderful homemaker, mother and best friend to her children and grandchildren. She was a member of The Eastern Star for over 50 years with the Rio Vista chapter #343 and Covington chapter #1007. She belonged to T.O.P.S Club for over 30 years, working hard to become a K.O.P.S. She loved to quilt and paint pictures as well.
Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Dell Osborne Waits and husband John of Rio Vista; grandchildren, Mary Patterson and husband Glen, Darrell Lambert and wife Andrea of Godley, Henry Coate and wife Connie of Joshua, Ray Waits and wife Angelia of Rio Vista and Maria Trupe of Amarillo; great grandchildren, Daryl Lee Lambert and wife Krystal, Buck and Venessa Jenkins, Jennifer Jenkins, Stetson Coate, Crystal Coate, Amy Waits, Taylor Waits, Shawn Trupe and Jammie Lynn Trupe; great great grandchildren, Haley Ann Jenkins and Merinda Jane Jenkins, all who love and greatly miss her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry Burnett Osborne on Dec. 13, 1989, two brothers, Willie (Bill) West and Buford West; one great great grandchild, Addison Grace Jenkins.
