Vera Anderson

A memorial service for Vera Belle Anderson, 95, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 6, 2023 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel.

Vera passed away Friday, February 24, 2023 in Arlington. She was born May 29, 1927 in Munday, Texas to Franklin and Myrtle Mae (Carter) Callaway. Vera married Othell Maxel Anderson on October 4, 1946 in Johnson County, Texas. They were married for 46 years before his passing in June of 1994. She was a member of Westhill Church of Christ. Vera worked for Bolen’s Hallmark Store as the Store Manager for over 20 years. It has been said that she was as sweet as candy. No one had a bad thing to say about her. She believed in always looking for the best in others and giving second chances. Vera had a strong faith and enjoyed going to her Tuesday Bible Study group. Her other enjoyment in life was quilting with her ladies’ group monthly. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Ronnie Anderson and wife, Marilyn, Sandra Auvenshine and husband, Steve, and Tammy Milliman; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; brother, Melvin Callaway; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends including her special friend, Rhonda Reece.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Leonard Milliman; siblings, Gilbert Callaway and Dorothy Nell Boen.
