Vera Banks

Graveside service for Vera Christeen Banks, 80, of Haltom City will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 30, 2013 in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.

Vera Christeen Banks passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2013 in Haltom City. She was born May 23, 1933 in Waxahachie to Otis Sydney and Vera Ocial Kissinger Broumley. She married Jesse Larkin "J.L.” Banks Jr. on December 14, 1971 and he preceded her in death in March of 2008.

Mrs. Banks was a certified nurse’s assistant, retiring from the former Fireside Lodge Nursing Home with more than 30 years service. She was an avid Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching baseball. Vera was a member of Field Street Baptist Church. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children, Debbie McMullen and husband Bryan, Dwayne Richards, Jay Banks and wife Cecilia and Sylvia Boese; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, Leon Broumley; sister Joyce Moore and several other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Kim Banks; and several brothers and sisters.
