Verda Massey

Graveside services for Verda Viola Massey, 83, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2007 in the Kimball Bend Cemetery. Deacon Larry Burk and Brother Steve Robinson. Burial will be in Kimball Bend Cemetery.

Verda Viola Massey passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2007 in Ft. Worth. She was born March 26, 1923 in Bosque County, TX to Carl and Minnie Nobles. She married O.T. Duke in 1942, he preceded her in death in 1971. She married John B. Massey in March 1972, he preceded her in death on June 10, 2005.

Mrs. Massey worked in housekeeping for Walls Regional and Johnson County Memorial Hospital for 18 years and a member of Rescue Mission Baptist Church.

Verda Viola Massey is survived by her son, Milton Duke of Cleburne; two sisters, Martha Gravitt of Cleburne and Nadine Graham of Burleson; three grandchildren, Loretta Edwards of Washington, Tammy Duke of Rio Vista and Troy Duke; three great-grandchildren, Anthony Handley of Washington, Jessicca Edwards of Washington and Ciera Townsend of Rio Vista. She was preceded in death by one son, Lloyd Duke in 1998.
