Verdie Pace

Services for Verdie Milton Pace, of Burleson, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Victory Family Church, 455 NW John Jones Drive, Burleson, Texas, with Pastor Mark Greenroy officiating. Burial will follow in Burleson Memorial Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, June 21, 2024 at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Jarrod Pace, Jordan Pace, Jim Pace, Eddie Slaughter, Denny Adams, and Darren Adams.

Mr. Pace passed from this life on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 in Burleson to his heavenly home at the age of 91. Mr. Pace was the son of Reverend Joseph Virgil and Grace Bernice (Wilkins) Pace. He was born August 14, 1932 in the community of Potts Valley (Somervell County), Glen Rose, Texas. Mr. Pace was a graduate of Morton High School, Morton, Texas. He attended Southwestern Assembly of God College in Waxahachie, Texas. Mr. Pace married Mary Wynell Wood, daughter of Tom and Vada (Moore) Wood, of Cleburne, Texas on July 2, 1955. They have resided in Burleson, Texas since January 1, 1962. To this union there was three sons, Larry, Jerry, and Michael. Mr. Pace managed Supermarkets for many years in the Fort Worth area. He also worked in the sales department for Mrs. Baird’s Bakery until his disability retirement in 1989. Mr. Pace was a member of The Assembly of God Church. He served as a Lay Minister, Bible Teacher, Sunday School Educational Director, and Church Deacon/Trustee. He enjoyed his family and keeping up with classmates from Morton High School through emails. He also enjoyed putting together his family Ancestry Genealogy. Mr. Pace will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Wynell Pace; sons, Larry Pace and wife Melinda, Jerry Pace and wife Tina, and Michael Pace; grandsons, Jarrod Pace and wife Julie, and Jordan Pace and wife Tayler; great-grandchildren, Brooklynne, Bryson, Landry, and Bennett; sister, Joy Purcella and husband Joe; sister-in-law, Evlyn Pace; and brother-in-law, Denver Adams, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Pace was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charlie and Marlin Pace; and sisters, Nevalene Howard, Bootsie Adams, Eva Dell Pace, and Elva Loreta Pace.
