Vernon Dale Like

Graveside inurnment service for Vernon Dale Like, 79, of North Las Vegas, Nevada will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 27, 2024 in Rosehill Cemetery with Chaplain Eddy Carrell officiating. 

Vernon passed away surrounded by family and went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 30, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born February 6, 1944 in Cleburne to Hardy Holt and Lois Marie (Jones) Like. Vernon married Mary Ann Bradshaw on October 19, 1974 in Elm Grove, Louisiana. He was of the Baptist faith. Vernon was a skilled craftsman and worked for a Glass Manufacturing factory in Alton, Illinois as a Manager. He retired from General Dynamics as a Manufacturing Manager with 25 years of service in San Diego, California.  He was an avid golfer, and a skilled craftsman who made many beautiful clocks, as well as building things. Vernon was “old school” and true to his word. After his retirement in Las Vegas, he became a member of the Poker League. Vernon loved to watch his grandsons play basketball. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years , Mary Like; our daughter, Jennifer DeFabias and husband, Jerry; sister, Barbara Fleming and husband, Harold of Branson, Missouri; grandsons, Luke, Caleb, and Rocco; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends; as well as his beloved dachshund, Molly.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Jessie Like, and Edward Like.

The family would like to give a special thank you to their dear friends from 1968, Rick and Karen Lombardi for being there during his time of passing, and neighbors, Sean and Rachel Fuentes for their loving care and support.
