Virginia Burns

Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Crosier Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home for Virginia Burns, 67, of Keene.
Mrs. Burns passed away on Friday, October 30, 2009 in Cleburne. She was born to the late, Thomas Houston and Ruby Pearl Stout on February 25, 1942 in Cleburne, Texas. She worked with the Veterans Affairs in Cleburne for several years. Virginia was a member of Field Street Baptist Church. Grandma, as her grandchildren called her, loved the outdoors, especially gardening and fishing, as well as dancing. She was known for her need to be around family and friends, and the love she had for them. Virginia's caring nature and uplifting spirit will be missed greatly by all those that knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald Bernard Burns; daughter, Rhonda Jean Gathings; and brother, Odell Stout.
Survivors include her son, Terry and Marie Burns; daughter, Jennifer Tillery; son in law, John Gathings; nine grandchildren, Phillip Gathings and wife, Tiffany, Thomas, Daniel Gathings and wife, Jessica, Joshua and Samuel Gathings, Darryl, Jason, Rebecca, and Laura Buckingham; eight great grandchildren; sister, Sylvia Blackmon; sister in law, Martha Stout; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
