Virginia Roye

Graveside service for Virginia Roye, 93, of Grandview, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 17, 2023 in Greenacres Memorial Park. Chaplain Eddy Carrell will officiate. There will be a time of visitation from 9:00 A.M. – 4 P.M., on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the funeral home.

Virginia passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023 in Cleburne. She was born June 17, 1929 in Cleburne to Homer Raymond and Maggie Mae (McMurray) Newsom. Virginia married John Eldon Roye on January 22, 1954 in Weatherford. She was of the Christian faith. Virginia worked as a bookkeeper for B & E Grain, Inc. and Howells Department Store, retiring in 2017. She was “The Boss.” Virginia was outgoing in her own way. She was a generous lady, even when she probably shouldn’t have been. She had a loving nature about her. Virginia spent hours working in her yard and watching the cattle out back. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her son, Dick Landers and wife, Vickie; grandchildren, Brent, Monty, Ty, Michael, Austin, Justin, Rich, Ty & Summer; several great-grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Homer Newsom and Maggie Hankins; husband, son, Walter Landers, and daughter, Teresa Matthews.
