Wallace L. Moeller, 93, of Amarillo, died Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Seville Estate. He was born on December 10, 1915 in Bartlett, Texas, the son of William and Nettie Moeller. He graduated from Cleburne High School. He married Ila Mae Meals on February 20, 1936; they were married for 47 years until she passed away in 1983. Wallace later married Hilma Mernitz in 1986.
Wallace worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 41 years and retired in 1977 in Amarillo, TX. Wallace was a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. He wan an active member in the church, Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Cleburne, TX, while they lived in Cleburne and attended Polk Street United Methodist Church in Amarillo, TX.
Wallace was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Elvie Moeller; his wife, Ila Mae; a daughter, Margaret Ann and his second wife, Hilma. Wallace is survived by his sisters, Grace Renfro of Cleburne, TX and Eva Mae Miller of Cleburne, TX; son, Keith Moeller and his wife, Pam of Topeka, KS; daughter, Virginia Moeller of Amarillo, TX;
Step-son, Ken Mernitz and his wife, Jennifer of Buffalo, NY; grandchildren, Melissa Hoge and husband, Justin of Topeka, KS, Kela Ortiz and husband, Juan of Topeka, KS; step-grandchildren, David and Jack Mernitz of Buffalo, NY; four great-grandchildren, Kyler, Tatum, Dawson and Keaven all of Topeka, KS and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home from 6:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2009. Graveside service at Rosehill Cemetery, February 5, 2009 at 2:00 p.m.
