Walter Boteler

Mr. Boteler passed away Monday, March 28, 2005 in Glen Rose. He was born August 7, 1912 in Alvarado, Tx., to Thomas Marion and Lola Neff Boteler. He married Rachel Almeida Prestridge on November 11, 1932 in Burleson.
Before retiring, Mr. Boteler served as Johnson County Commissioner for 12 years and was a farmer and business man in Johnson County and Tarrant County. He formerly lived in Ft. Worth, Alvarado, Mansfield and Cleburne before moving to Glen Rose in 2001. He was a member of Field St. Baptist Church where he formerly served as a Deacon. He was a member of the Alvarado Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Mason and Alvarado Order of Eastern Star.
Walter I. ""Rip" Boteler is survived by his daughter Lorraine Oliver and husband John; grandsons, J. Garth Oliver and wife Kasie and W. Tom Oliver and wife Lora; great grandchildren, Dustie, Brittany, Garrett and Elise; nephews, Dwaine and Travis Basham; niece, Lleta Scoggins; a number of great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Rachel Boteler on March 14, 2004 and sister, Francis Basham.
