Funeral services for Walter Ernest "Brad" Bradford, Jr. of Cleburne will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Sunday, March 5, 2023 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Chapel. Pastor Harly Charles will officiate, and Robert (Bob) Bradford, Randy Hartwright, Robert Hartwright, Chris Hartwright, Dave Turner and Jared Hartwright will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Rosehill Cemetery, Cleburne.
Walter passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 in McKinney, Texas. He was born to Walter Ernest, Sr. and Linnie Knight Bradford on November 23, 1932 in Memphis, Tennessee. Walter married his first wife Chlo Anna McGuire on June 21st 1958, and they had two children, Robert and Kelley Bradford. He married his second wife Barbara Fae Turner on June 8, 1986 in Cleburne. They were married 29 years at the time of her passing in 2015. He served in the United States Air Force for eight years during the Korean war and afterwards. Walter was a punctual, hardworking man retiring after over 35 years as an Insurance Adjuster with Fireman's Fund which he was extremely proud of. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Cleburne where he also served as a deacon and remained an active member for many years. He had a heart to share the Word of God, give encouragement and help save souls. Walter had an adventurous nature and enjoyed many trips and cruises traveling world-wide with his wife Barbara at his side. As a youth he enjoyed camping with a variety of other youth and organizations. He loved horses and was a "foodie" with a taste for fine cuisine. He loved to read especially military and historical books. It must also be said that in his later years he adored the loving companionship of his cat Chevy. Walter shared life lessons with many and had a great love for people. His sense of humor impacted those around him for the better. He will be missed greatly.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, both his wives and many dear friends.
Survivors include his children Robert Bradford and Kelley Fisher, grandchildren Kristin Ann Evans, Karah Michelle Mathews and Travis Jason Fisher, five great grandchildren. Stepsons and daughters include Randy Hartwright, Robert Hartwright, Katherine Hartwright, Chris Hartwright and their spouses and children as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
