Inurnment service for Walter James Cox, Sr., 80, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 24, 2021 in Prices Chapel Cemetery.

Walter James Cox, Sr. passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021 in Cleburne. He was born March 28, 1941 in Fort Worth to Jack Leon and Margaret Olive Robinson Cox. Walter married Carol Lynn Fuller on May 25, 1962 in Fort Worth. Walter was a life long servant to his community and family. He served in law enforcement for many years. Walter was also instrumental in the early development of the Liberty Chapel Volunteer Fire Department. Walter was a wonderful father and devoted husband and invested much time in people’s lives. He was a 50 year Mason and a Shriner as well. To say that Walter will be fondly remembered by many is truly understated.

Walter is survived by his daughter, Dana Headrick and husband Tim; son, Walter Cox, Jr.; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and loving friends.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Margaret Cox; wife Carol Cox; daughter Melody Bailey Hicks and sister, Sarah Ann Cox Plummer.
