Walter Gibson

Service for Walter Glenn Gibson, Jr. will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Friday, May 10, 2013 in the V.O. Schneider Memorial Chapel in Keene. Burial will be in the Keene Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Walter Glenn Gibson Jr. departed this life on Saturday, May 4, 2013 after a brief illness. Glenn was born Oct. 24, 1946 in Berrien Springs, MI to Walter Glenn Sr. and Ruth E. Grady Gibson. Moving to Texas at an early age, Glenn attended Jefferson Academy in Jefferson, Lon Morris College in Jacksonville and Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, receiving his master’s degree in psychology in 1974. In July 1974, Glenn moved to Mexia where he began a long career as a psychologist at the Mexia State School. After retirement, Glenn continued as a psychologist in private practice until his recent illness.

Survivors include his first cousins, Roger Gibson of Rockport, GA, Danny Gibson of Jefferson, Betty Gibson Holdridge of Cleburne, Debby Hyslop of Keene, Kim Holdridge of New Hampshire, Roy Holdridge of Granbury, Pam Lewis of Collegedale, TN; Bonnie Gibson Matthews of Collegedale, TN, Fern Gibson Babcock of MI, and Opal June Scott of Shalimar, FL; and many close friends and loved ones.
