Wanda Johnson

Graveside service for Wanda Rose Henderson Johnson, 93, of Burleson formerly of Odessa will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 19, 2021 in the Coleman City Cemetery in Coleman, Texas
Visitation will be 5-6:00 P.M., Sunday, July 18, 2021 at the funeral home.

Wanda Rose Henderson Johnson passed away July 15, 2021 in Burleson at a retirement center. Wanda was born in Coleman County to Markham and Rose Henderson on January 24, 1928. At the age of four they moved to the Tickham Community.

She married Thomas R. Johnson “Tomboy” on February 26, 1950. They had 54 years together. She retired from American State Bank, a charter member of Mission Dorado Baptist Church. Wanda was very active in Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary for 20 years, serving as president. She was also involved in all school activities that her children were in. Wanda was also a member of the Eastern Star for many years.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband on March 2004, parents Markham and Rose Seals Henderson, sister, Crystal Ruth Whitney; brothers, Hilburn, Clay, Roy Dale, Ray, Fred and Kennith.

Wanda is survived by two children, Denice and husband Gordon Peppard of Burleson, Tommy Ray Johnson of Gordonville; two granddaughters, Crystal and husband Travis Larson of Round Rock, Krystin Rose of Edmond, Oklahoma; four great grandchildren, Brock and Addie Rose Larson of Round Rock, Ashlyn and Noah Land of Edmond, Oklahoma.
