Wanda Jones

Graveside service for Wanda Marie Brawner Jones, 87, of Joshua, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 7, 2023 in Union Hill Cemetery. Ricky Fuchs will officiate. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Sunday, August 6, 2023 at the funeral home.

Wanda passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 in Joshua. She was born March 17, 1936 in Venus, Texas to George Oscar and Maude Mae (Durham) Brawner. Wanda married William Robert Jones on October 3, 1952. She was of the Pentecostal faith. Wanda was a talented athlete playing basketball, volleyball, softball and bowling which led her to coach her daughter’s softball team. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, William “Bob” Robert Jones; son, Michael Dwayne Jones; daughter, Vickie Jones Steer and husband, Ken; grandchildren, Carrie Dawn Ellis, Lacy Nichole Jones Massie and husband, Andrew James (A.J), and Lance Michael Jones and wife, Christina; great-grandchildren, Coral Skye Ellis, Emma Rae Massie, Chloe Michelle Jones, Everett James Massie and Lily Sophia Jones; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Gracie Lee Brawner Hodges, James Melvin Brawner, Clyde Weldon Brawner, Harold Wesley Brawner, Orlan Eugene Brawner and Melba Lorene Brawner.
