Service for Wayne McCoy, 91, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. , Saturday, June 15, 2019 in the Bethel Temple Assembly of God Church. Burial will follow in Godley Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Gene Hubble, Monroe Wallis, Brent Shields, Steve McCoy, Carl McClain and Charlie Davis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Burch, McCoy Nephews, Dennis Thacker, Rex Roy, Santa Fe Railroad Co -Workers and Godley Friends.
Wayne McCoy passed away June 13, 2019 in Fort Worth. Wayne was born April 24, 1928 to LeRoy and Mabel C. McCoy in Glen Rose. Wayne served in the US Army during World War II and in the Korean War. He was a machinist for the Santa Fe Railroad for over 35 years, served as Pastor of Godley Assembly of God Church in Godley for over 30 years and was a member of Bethel Temple Assembly of God in Cleburne. He married Wanda Jean Splawn on December 29, 1951 in Cleburne.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years Wanda McCoy of Cleburne; son, Ronny McCoy and wife Renee of Godley and daughter Carla McCoy of Cleburne. He was blessed with many grandchildren, Matthew McCoy of Cleburne, Colista Learmont and husband Tanner of Grandview, Hattie Zavalla and husband George of New Braunfels, Dustin Burgess and wife Brooke of Waco, Brittany McCarty of Godley and Tiffany Hankins and husband Josh of Hudson Oaks; 5 great grandchildren, McKenzie, Wyatt, Brenton, Brazos and Dax; brother in law Melvin Splawn and wife Jewel of Hillsboro and numerous nieces and nephews and family friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, David McCoy, Jim McCoy, Jerry McCoy, Frank McCoy and sister, Lavada Hubble and infant grandson Daniel Wayne McCoy.
