Wayne Underwood

Service for Wayne Underwood, 82, of Fort Worth, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church in Cleburne with Chaplain Eddy Carrell officiating. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Zach Villanueva, Taylor Carter, Aaron Carter, Nick Reese, Douglas Mooneyham and Jayke Villanueva.

Wayne passed away Friday, February 9, 2024, in Fort Worth. He was born November 24, 1941, in Cleburne to Charles Warren and Emmie Effie (Pierce) Underwood. Wayne married Charlotte Elizabeth Kellum on June 2, 1974 in Fort Worth. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Wayne enjoyed his job being self-employed in the Irrigation/Agriculture industry. He loved hunting, fishing, and was very family and sports oriented, especially football and baseball. Wayne was a very handy man who could fix anything. He was a loving father and great husband. Wayne was everybody’s “dad” if you were close to the family. He will be greatly missed by those closest to him.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Charlotte (Kellum) Underwood; children, Rebecca Villanueva, Melissa Sisk and husband, Ronnie, Michele Hillis and husband, Ronnie, Melinda Reese, Traci Holzer and husband, Scott, Tony Carter, Amanda Moore, and Deborah Bustillos and husband, Richard; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and a host of other relatives; beloved dog, Dixie; and work family, Taylor Carter, Aaron Carter, Jose Escobedo, Douglas Mooneyham, and Martin and Carlos Rosa.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Dorothy Wilburn, Orville Underwood, C.W. Underwood, Gene Underwood, and his son, David Underwood.
