A memorial service for W.C. “Bill” Chapmon, Jr., 75, of Cleburne will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, May 28, 2016 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Michael Tucker will officiate, assisted by Pastor Harly Charles.
W.C. “Bill” Chapmon, Jr. passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016 in Cleburne after a long courageous battle with ALS. He was born Feb. 6, 1941 in Dallas to William C., Sr. and Gertrude Boyd Chapmon. He married Verna Faye Holub on August 15, 1980.
Bill started his career at the age of 16, as a diesel mechanic, moving up the ranks to shop foreman, advanced to vice president, wrote manuals for start-up leasing companies, taught work related seminars and in the mid 90’s he and two partners started the MNX Trucking, Inc., which was purchased by Swift leasing. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 53 years and the Shriners. He was also a member of the Cleburne Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 36 years, Faye Chapmon; daughters, Karey Francis and husband Charlie of Garland, Pamela Reynolds and husband Robert of Dallas, and Renee Massengill and husband Tim of Argyle; grandson, Jason Fogus and wife Christina of Arlington; granddaughters, Angela Moore of Dallas, and Jennifer Nelson and husband Dennis of Maui; great grandson, Matthew Hayden of Arlington; and a great granddaughter on the way in November of 2016; sister, Wanda Peters of Whitney; brother, Wallace Reid of Belton; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Helen Warren; and a brother, Samuel Reid.
