Wende Lynn Walker Smith was born on December 10, 1968 in Fort Worth, Texas. She went to be with her Lord on February 17, 2005. She professed her faith in Jesus Christ and was baptized as a child. Wende graduated from Cleburne High School in 1987. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin College in Nacogdoches, Texas with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Early Childhood Development in 1992.
Wende married Ben Smith on December 13, 1993. They were blessed with one son, Masen Benjamin Smith, born on October 1, 1996. She was a devoted mother who treasured her special gift from God. Wende and her family lived in Waco, Texas and attended First United Methodist Church. She was extremely active in Mountainview PTA, holding positions on the executive board. She volunteered in the classroom, coached students for UIL academic competition, helped with field trips, parties, book fairs and fundraising, as well as serving as room mother for Masen's class each year. She worked at First Baptist Church of West, Mother's Day Out as an extension of her love of children. Wende had an amazing love for all children and she used that God-given talent to make a difference in each child's life that crossed her path. To those of her family she was a great joy, an encourager, inspiration of hope, faith, and goodness, who can never be replaced in our hearts.
