Graveside service for Wesley Eugene “Churn” Martin, 94, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2021, in Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 8, 2021, from 6-8:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home.
Wesley Eugene “Churn” Martin passed away June 5, 2021, in Cleburne. He was born September 14, 1926, in Cleburne to Van Wesley and Emma Idaline (Ledbetter) Martin. He married Mary Elizabeth (Coward) Martin on December 9, 1950. Wesley served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of North Cleburne Baptist Church. Wesley was an Electrical Supervisor for the Santa Fe Railroad where he retired in 1986. He was strong willed and had an independent streak. Wesley was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Pop, as his grandchildren called him, was an organized man who believed in doing things right. He loved to dance throughout his lifetime, up until the last few years. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge and Moslah Temple in Fort Worth.
Wesley is survived by his daughter, Gina Greer, and husband, Jary Petkovich; grandchildren, Jerrett Greer and Jett Petkovich; great grandson, Jace Greer; sister, Billie Gene Rives; nephew, Randy Rives and wife, Mary Jean; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Van and Emma Martin, and his wife Mary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scottish Rites or any charity of the givers’ choice.
