William “Bill” Hodge, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, at the age of 87 in Fort Worth, Texas. Born May 24, 1937, in Cleburne, Texas, Bill was known for his deep commitment to family, work, and home.
Over 50 years ago, Bill became a Mason in Emporia, Kansas, where he embraced the principles of generosity and service. His soft-spoken manner, kindness, and sense of humor made him a cherished presence to all who knew him. Bill was also a proud veteran, having served in the US Navy aboard a Naval Destroyer during the Korean War.
An avid outdoorsman, Bill found joy in fishing and camping, and his love for animals and nature was a constant source of inspiration to those around him. He was a man of strong Christian faith and lived his life with a positive outlook, always sharing a joke or words of encouragement to others.
Bill’s legacy of love and devotion to his family will live on through his wife, Francea Hodge; daughters, Renea Mohr, spouse Mark, Debra Cook, spouse Jeremy Haynes, Jodi Scott, spouse Roy; grandchildren, Daniel Stallings, Rachel Mohr, Madeline Trent, Cameron Mohr, Karissa Pecorella, Kyler Cook, River Scott; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Suzanne Shipley; his brother, Guy Hodge, spouse Sandra; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma Warren Hodge and Julia Ann Weber, and siblings, Jimmy Hodge, Julia Philbrick, and Charles Ray Hodge. His wisdom, kindness, and infectious laughter will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite church charity in Bill’s honor. His spirit of love, faith, and joy will continue to inspire all who knew him.
