THE ULTIMATE HEALING

Isaiah 53:5

On May 25, 2009, at 1:10 p.m., William B. "Bert" Cochran, experienced "The Ultimate Healing", and went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bert was known as husband, father, papaw, and a surrogate father to many. He was born February 15, 1937, to parents William Scott and Eureka Cochran. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lois Cochran, of Cleburne, TX.; daughters Rhonda Weisinger and Ray Ferguson; Dede and Mike Scogin, one sister, Ora Lee McPherson, all of Lufkin, TX.; sons, Alan and Glenda Brooks; Dale and Bobbie Brooks, all of Cleburne, TX.; granddaughters Brandy McGuire, Stephanie and Kayla Brooks; Shelby and Megan Scogin; Rachel and Emaleigh Brooks. Great grandchildren Michael Weisinger, Glynda and Jason McGuire Jr.
The door to Bert's heart and home was always open for all to come inside. He loved people, never met a stranger, and was always willing to help those in need. He "adopted" many sons and daughters. Psalms 127:5a. These are the arrows in his quiver: Darryl and Shannon Lackey, daughters Lauren, Laila and Lacey, son, Darryl W. Lackey Jr.; Becky and Eldon Hollenbeck and Rachel; Rhonda Berg; Sandra Gail and Wayne Earlston; Anita and Tony Reyes; J.D. and Arlyn Esposito; Steve and Valerie Kimbrough, Clay, Shelby, Joseph and Michael; Darlene Jones;
Sofi Naldo; Mary Gudino; Jonathan Hudson; Cathy Cochran; Ignacio Santiago Jr. and Monty Roberts.
Bert was a retired electrician, having worked at that trade over 40 years. He loved the Lord and went on two missionary trips, one to Mexico and one to Western Samoa, where he fell in love with the Samoan people. His hearts desire was to return to Samoa and live out the rest of his life in service to them and unto the Lord.

There will be a celebration of his life on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., Eastern Heights Church, with Darryl Lackey and Pastor Ron Barker officiating. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2009 at 1:00p.m., at the Cochran Family Cemetery, Huntington, TX, with Pastor James Owen Forrest and brother-in-law James Mott conducting the service.
