William Cowen

William J. Cowen passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005 in Ft. Worth. He was born November 9, 1928 in Cleburne to J. A. and Ada Smith Cowen. He married Mary Virginia Shaw on June 21, 1952 in Hillsboro.
Mr. Cowen retired as a brakeman for Santa Fe Railroad in 1988 after 41 years of service. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WWII and was a member of Field St. Baptist Church.
William J. Cowen is survived by wife Mary Cowen of Cleburne; daughter, Christy Lindauer and husband John of Lubbock; brother, Tom Cowan and wife Patsy of Cleburne; three sisters, Mamie McPherson of Cleburne, Eva Hartman and husband Fred of Burleson and Maxine George of Cleburne; a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sister, Wyonna Cowan.
