William Hastings

Service for William Perry Bill Hastings, 64, of Joshua will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 11, 2014 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Jeffrey Hastings will officiate. No set visitation is scheduled.

Mr. Hastings passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 in Cleburne. He was born Aug. 14, 1949 in Dallas to Joseph Weldon and Geneva Elizabeth Morgan Hastings. He married Carol Elaine Nix on August 4, 2004 in Cleburne.

Bill was a truck driver. In his younger years he played football and declined going pro as an offensive lineman. Pops, as his grandchildren called him loved family gatherings, holidays and playing PS2 football games. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Hastings; children, Jeffrey Hastings and fiance Meagan, Annie Hastings, Claudia Wilson and husband Greg, Tammy Salyers, Carolyn McNeil and Barry Tucker; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Jo McGarvey and Anthony Mac; several nieces and nephews; beloved dogs, Dillon and Jake and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
