Service for William “Billy” Columbus Holbert Jr., 60, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, November 24, 2014 in Field Street Baptist Church. Dr. John Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.

William “Billy” Columbus Holbert Jr. passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 in Cleburne. He was born August 8, 1954 in Fort Worth to William Columbus Sr. and Fannie Louise Null Holbert.

Mr. Holbert was an auto theft detective with the Fort Worth Police Department, retiring in 2012 with 31 years of service. He enjoyed raising cattle, golfing, and going to auctions. His nieces and nephews brought him great joy. He attended Bible study several times a week and was active with the youth at church. He was a member of Field Street Baptist Church. His love for life and family will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his mother, Louise Null Holbert; stepson, Dwayne Curtis Adams; sisters, Mary Ann Langley and husband George, Barbara Jean Wright and husband Bill, and Linda Carol Boorman and husband Paul; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, William C. Holbert Sr.
