Graveside services for Bill Hughes, 62, of Godley, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 28, 2011 in the Godley Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday.
Mr. Hughes passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2011 in Fort Worth. He was born to Fred C. and Evelyn J. Reed Hughes on February 13, 1949 in Kansas City, MO. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He married Connie Rose Rush on June 16, 1973 in Arlington. Bill worked as a machinist in the plastics industry for many years and was of the Pentecostal faith. Bill was a hard working, family man who enjoyed fishing. He was known as a joker, having the talent to make everyone laugh. Grandpa would do anything to make others smile. His loving nature and outgoing spirit will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Fred C. Hughes and step father, Hugh Howard.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 37 years, Connie Hughes; mother, Evelyn Hughes Fudge; son, Tommy Scarbrough and his wife, Denise; honorary sons, Dwight Majis and his wife, Shawna, and Clis Fowler; grandchildren, Morgan and Wade; great grandchildren, Serenity and Donel; brothers, Robert Taylor and his wife, Theresa, and Jim Hughes and his wife, Rhonda; sister, Brenda Bean; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and a host of other relatives and friends.
