William Charles "Willie" McGehee, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010 at his home in Cleburne.
Funeral: 1:00 P.M. Wednesday in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel.
Internment: 3:30 P.M. Wednesday in the Morgan Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Tuesday

Willie was born April 7, 1930, to James Acy and Francis Pearl McGehee in View, Texas. His family moved to Morgan in 1944. After graduating from Morgan High School in 1948, he became a locomotive engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad and retired after 46 years of service in 1994. He served his country in the 187th Airborne as a U.S. Army sergeant and paratrooper in the Korean War. He was especially proud to be chosen as the personal Jeep driver for General William Westmoreland.
After returning from his tour of duty, Willie married the love of his life, Nadine Wright, on September 10, 1953.
He enjoyed spending time on his "Wildcat Ranch" in Eulogy, Texas, and had a passion for growing fresh fruits and vegetables. He was proud of his family, especially his grandchildren, and will be missed by all who loved him.
Willie was a lifetime member of the Cleburne Elks Lodge, and a former member of the Texas Left Handed Golf Association.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Acy; mother, Francis Pearl; sister, Mildred Neely; and brothers, Harold and Ronnie McGehee.
Survivors: Wife of 56 years, Nadine of Cleburne; daughter, Martha Willeen Morrow and husband, Theron, of Richmond; son, William Charles McGehee, Jr. of Cleburne; daughter, Fran McGehee of Burleson; granddaughter, Bailey Falk and husband, Todd, of Houston; grandson, Ryan Morrow of Richmond; brother, J.A. McGehee, of Godley; sister, Jimmie Ruth Greenwood, of Tucson, Arizona; sister-in-law Billye McGehee of Brazos Point; brother-in-law Thurston Wright and wife, Edna of Cleburne; and, a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The family would like to express its sincere gratitude for the care provided by Mission Hospice and the ER and ICU staff of Texas Health Resources - Cleburne.
In Willie's own words, "I'm gonna drive this train to the end of track, shut 'er down, and coast on home."
