A graveside service for William Carl “Bill” Ruffin, Jr., 75, of Crowley, will be conducted at 1:30 P.M., February 4, 2021 at DFW National Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-5:00 P.M., Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the funeral home.
Bill Ruffin passed away January 12, 2021 in Cleburne. He was born May 13, 1945 in Roanoke, Virginia to William Carl (Sr.), and Lona Vaden (Boatwright) Ruffin. He married Mary “Kathy” Katherine Shockley in 1968 in Chandler, Arizona. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era where he obtained the rank of staff sergeant . He worked as an exterminator. He was a very private man and a jack-of-all-trades. Bill had a strong faith and served as the church music librarian and on the choir at First Baptist Church of Crowley. Bill will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
Survivors include his son, Marc Ruffin; daughter-in-law, Amanda Carol Freeman Hileman; siblings, Betsy C. Ruffin, and David A. Ruffin and wife Sarah; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Preceding him death were his parents; wife, Kathy Ruffin; and son, Bran Ruffin.
Memorials may be made to the giver’s choice of any veteran based charities or Parkinson’s Disease Research foundations in lieu of flowers.
