Service for William Watson, 71, of Blum will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017 at the Central Baptist Church in Itasca. The Reverend Alton Harwell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Itasca Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Scott, Billy Scott, Jeff Sanders, Travis Sanders, Bobby Wayne Watson and Darrin Roye. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Monday, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.
William Watson passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017 in Ft. Worth. He was born Sept. 17, 1945 in Cleburne to Lowell and Azlee Roye Watson. He married Paula Jean Huggins on Dec. 21, 1991 in the Woodrow Community.
William worked as operations manager for Hilco Electric Cooperative, retiring with 47½ years of service. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Itasca.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Paula Watson of Blum; five children, Kathy Tait and husband Glenn of Round Rock, Traysi Space and husband Chris of Austin, Kris Watson and wife Nancy of Blum, Troy Kimbrell and wife Darla of Blum and Kourtney Simpson and husband Chance of Henrietta; 10 grandchildren, Shelby, Ryan, Teagen, Deacon, Darby, Mei, Brayden, Ashton, Kaleb and McKenna; one great grandchild, Dante; five siblings, Bobby Watson and wife Carol of Cransfills Gap, Barbra Tubbs and husband Ray of Blum, Nelda Matthews and husband Cecil of Cleburne, Pearlie Roberts and husband Terry of Acton and Doug Watson and wife Irene of Cleburne; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Melanie Suzanne Watson in 1970.
