Service for Willie “Skully” Scott, Jr., 69, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 28, 2015 in the Emmanuel Temple Outreach Ministry Church. Pastor James Thorne will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Vidal Hance, Stephen Hafford, Brantley Smith, Larry Scott, John Charles Phillips and Paul Chavez. Honorary pallbearers will be Skully’s co-workers from Santa Fe Railroad.
Willie “Skully” Scott, Jr. passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 in Fort Worth. He was born October 10, 1946 in Johnson County to Willie, Sr. and Robbie Lee Wilson Scott. He married Peggy Jay Pollard on March 21, 1975 in Weatherford.
He was an engineer for Santa Fe Railroad with 35 years of service and was a member of Bethel Salter AME.
Willie is survived by his children, Gerald (Tonya) Anderson of Cleburne, Minister Cassie (Arthur) Jarmon of Cleburne, Darlene (Paladin, Sr.) McGowen of Dayton, Jay (Ruth) Scott of Florida, Angelique Scott of Cleburne, Veronica (Roosevelt) Stevenson of New Orleans, LA, Barbie Scott of Arlington, Craig Craft of Atlanta, GA, Willie III (Rebekah) Scott of Cleburne and Crystle Craft of Mansfield; four brothers Pastor James (Janice) Thorne of Denison, Jerry (Pam) Thorne of Weatherford, Michael (Shelia) Scott of Cleburne and Darryl (Sherry) Jimmerson of Cleburne ; four sisters, Pearlie Norwood of Alvarado, Shirley Fuller of Cleburne, Cherry Allen of Alvarado and Annette Jimmerson of Cleburne, mother-in-law, Willie E. Smith; four brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; two special friends, James Henry Brown and Charles Fuller; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Scott on November 30, 2000; three brothers Eugene Jimmerson, Lewis Scott and Donald Thorne; one sister, Henrietta Thorne; nephew, James Fuller, Jr. and daughter, Tammy White.
