Wilma “Judy” Thompson, age 80, of Rio Vista, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. A service in her honor will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Rio Vista Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Lee Thompson, Tommy Thompson, Billy Thompson, Billy Clyde Palmer, Charles Palmer, Robert Harrell, Adam Burrows, and Steve Osborne.
Born on October 15, 1944, in Gorman, Texas, Judy married Billy Truman Thompson on July 24, 1964, in Eastland, Texas. She devoted over 35 years to driving a school bus for the Rio Vista Independent School District, becoming a cherished figure in the community. Judy was known not only for her dedication but also for her remarkable cooking, ensuring that no guest ever left her home hungry. Judy had a profound impact on her family and friends, exemplifying love and support as a cornerstone of her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Judy was deeply loved by all who knew her, including her extended family and lifelong friends.
Judy is survived by her daughters, Paula Osborne and her husband, Steve, Jerri Lynn King and her husband, Benny; and her sons, William Lee Thompson, Sr., Tommy Thompson, and Billy Thompson. She is also survived by her sisters, Cathy Harrell and her husband, Doug, and Robin Elliott and her husband, Randy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William G. Ensor and Jearldea Kennedy, and her husband, Billy Truman Thompson.
