Services for Yale Larry Gibbs, 61, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 17, 2024, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Thursday, May 16, 2024, at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Jordan Williams, Matt Vaughan, Justin Dennis, Mark Horn, Payton Thrasher, Parker Thrasher, Claye Smith, Cy Williams, Chet Mears, and Isreal Ortega. Honorary pallbearers are B.J. Fowler, Maxie Jr. Fowler, and Paxton Thrasher.
Yale passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024, in Cleburne. He was born September 23, 1962 in Cleburne to James Carl and Martha Gale (Hasty) Gibbs. Yale married the love of his life, Rhonda Joyce Dennis on July 7, 1990 in Cleburne. His last words to Rhonda were “I love you so much!” He worked for 31 years as a Truck driver for several companies. Yale spent a lot of time keeping his trucks clean. He loved Christian music and was a devout Christian and a member of River of Life Outreach Ministry. Yale was very involved in his church, including volunteering his time at Broken Pieces Church, with a special place in his heart for the homeless, hungry and lost. He never met a stranger and always wanted to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to anyone who would listen or not. Yale was never afraid to help anyone who needed it. He was a jackpot roper and a former member of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Posse. Yale will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Rhonda Gibbs; children, Shelby Gibbs, Amanda Mears and husband, Chet, and Megan Marin and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Gracie Mears, Grady Mears, Emily Marin, and Lucas Marin; sisters, Tammy Miller and husband, Steve, and Tena Walls; sister-in-law, JoAnn Roy; aunts, Barbara, and Judy, and uncle, Ronnie; beloved companion, Maddie Mae; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Martha Gibbs; and nephew, Corey Miller.
